Chinese Opera Meets Animation

Exciting stories, stirring music, soaring vocals and interesting visual art come together in this concert to bring excerpts of six classic Chinese legends to vivid life!
Smile at the wit of Zhuge Liang in The Empty City Strategem, feel the yearning of Madam Zhang in Dream in the Spring Chambers, applaud the courage of heroes in The Water Margin - The Flight of Lin Chong, reel with a lonesome Yang Guifei in Concubine Yang’s Drunken Stupor, and feel the heartache of the sensuous White Snake in The Legend of the White Snake as the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, together with Beijing opera singers Zhao Qun and Fu Xiru and the China Academy of Art, School of Animation Media, presents an evocative pairing of traditional Chinese opera music with animation in styles ranging from traditional ink painting to sand art. Conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh.

新加坡华乐团
欣赏传统戏曲，一则称为“听戏”，一则称为“看戏”，新加坡华乐团要把传统“听戏”与“看戏”合二为一并赋予新的含义：听的是典雅的华乐，优美的唱腔；看的是别致的动画、个性化的人物形象。
在本台演出中，新加坡华乐团将与中国美术学院传媒动画学院携手合作，让华乐、动画与戏曲演唱相互结合，首次为本地观众带来与众不同的视听盛宴。
演出由六段动画组成，分别选自脍炙人口的传统故事，包括《三国演义》的《空城计》、《水浒传》的《武松打虎》及《林冲夜奔》、民间传说《白蛇传》，以及《贵妃醉酒》和《春闺梦》。中国动画家以多种不同的艺术手法，从水墨画风到沙画艺术，将故事重新演绎。
新加坡华乐团则在听觉上营造连串惊喜，特别为这次演出创作的音乐，将以其强烈的色彩及鲜明的风格，与巨型画幕上的人物产生互动，带领观众进入别开生面的戏曲与动画天地。音乐会指挥葉聰，担任现场演唱的是中国京剧表演艺术家赵群与傅希如。
